Blog # 1 revised !

Preface:
In this video Sir Ken Robinson talks about his experience being a college professor and how creativity is being killed everyday by teachers, in schools. He also covers certain stories, and things he has heard of or seen, that has to do with the importance of letting kids express their creativity, and what happens if they don’t get to.

My Response:
After watching this video i soon discovered that i was not the only person that was feeling this way. I for the longest time have had this same position on this topic. Why children’s creativity must be killed by schools. Kids these days are being shied away from their creativity. I love the point in this video when he says that "the goal these days is to raise every kid to become a college professor". Point being that being a college professor is not bad, but it goes to show that not everybody is successful at being a college professor, so why are schools and people around us constantly taking away or educating their kids away from their creativity. I also love the point that was brought up saying “that dancing should be just as important as mathematics". What is so bad about expressing creativity? Let kids become their own person sure I’m not saying let kids run wild with no instruction, grammar, or any other schooling, but don’t shy them away by making one subject more important than another just because one is based on creativity, and the other on calculators, and algebraic equations. Let kids think and be free

Its magic...you know!!

This video although not so direct with questions, or a very constructive format, offers many different questions, and interesting topics. It opens doors to different things concerning brain activity, and how it functions.

My personal response to this video, is how interested this has made me. This video has showed me how powerful each persons brain can be, and how often we dont utilize our brains full potential, which is too sad. Just like in this video when he mentions the elder russian woman, being able to read and determine colors, blindly, due to her sense being inheightened, by the brain. This video although more of a magic show than an informative speech, offered a look into how easily our brains can be persuaded, distracted, and taken over essentially, juist by sudden motions, subtle distractions, and careful planning. This video is a great demonstration of all that, it also leaves me asking questions, like ; will we ever truly master the human brain?, will we ever fully use the human brain?, and what research is being done to learn more about these different amazing features of the human brain?. Does anybody have a video or an article they could respond back with, to give me some more  clarity, on my questions above?
