My contribution, was that instead of commenting, i created a wikipedia account, and created a Uganda Genocide topic section. There was no such topic created, in all of wikipedia, so i created one so people could come in, and use their findings to help write one for the Ugandan genocide. Although i did not contribute myself on the page, i am looking forward to seeing others contribute, i felt this was a pretty interesting way of being a community contributor, and lived up to the requirements.

rats that save lives!!
My first initial theme was Africa: the Next Chapter. The theme, was brought up when i brainstormed in class, i actually brainstormed, and my words were genocide, and Africa, and Uganda. I then found the videos for the African theme, and began finding a video that caught my eye. So i found this video, of a dutch speaker, talking about how in Africa they are now training rats, to sniff out land mines, to ave the lives of millions of African people, due to the landmines, their are barriers all across Africa unknown to most people, but still very deadly. The rats are 1/5 the price of having to train dogs to do the same job.
This video for me sparked questions, like how many crews in Africa are now using this method?
How did this method started?
How many landmines, or potential barriers due to land mines are their in Africa?
Will the military soon pick up on this to start sniffing out bombs in places like Iraq, or any country we are at war with?
How much does it cost to run this program?
Will African people live longer, and will thier be less overall deaths as a country due to this?
Will our government be supporting, or helping this program out in any way,shape, or form?
As an expert I will be able to answer how long this has been going on, the major pro's and con's, and if this has been significantly benficial, or just another weeknd experiment type of deal.
I narrowed my topic down to has Africa started to find their own ways of not using foreign aid, and are these ways sustainable, and affordable, and will they work. I am interested in this topic, because it is something very unusual, and i dont think it gets as much publicity as it should. African unlike many other countries, has wars, and battles, and disease taking away many of lives, every single day. People in other countries, dont have it half as bad as people ovewr thier. People kill for water, and food, and even a place to sleep, i am interested in finding out how much of a benefit these rats are to the African people, and how they are still coming up with ways to help sustain, and survive.

Our Bodies Are Quite Interesting.......
Elliot Krane in the first video, explains the disease of chronic pain, and the theories involved. He explains how sometimes although we think of pain as just a temporary thing for some people it is a ongoing disease.
My learning goal, is to fully understand the chronic pain disease, that some people around the world are experiencing. Why is the nervous system doing this? Why is this not being researched?
In the video Elliot Krane tries to answer some of these question or learning goals above, by explaining that the nervous system sometimes cannot reach or does not reach the correct box. Causing the touch sensors around your body to feel pain instead of just a normal touch. I know understand how our bodies can get nervous system sensors mixed up, and cause weird, and unusual things to happen like pain touching.
In this second video Alan Russel Provides information, about our bodies, and how they can almost regenerate themselves. He also talks about how if we could learn how to capitalize on this we could potentially defeat types of cancers, and other diseases, that are common among people today.
My learning goals for this Ted talk, were to know why, and how the body would regenerate itself?
Have we been doing research on this and for how long?
Could our bodies themselves potentially be the cure for diseases that we catch?
I know understand though how some of the functions in our bodies work. After watching this video Alan Russel does explain many things about our bodies natural way of defending itself against diseases.

These to women, and these two Ted talks, opened my eyes more than any, that i had seen yet. These talks about two completely different people, and how two traumatic things happened to each one of them, and how they took their lives, and relived, or saved themselves, by changing their outlooks to be positive, instead of the negative things in their lives that they were experiencing. I understand how quickly life can change, and how quickly you might have to make a u-turn, but that doesn't mean that giving up is an option, and if i have to choose a learning goal, it is that i want to learn how to have the positive outlook that these two incredibly strong women do, because if i thought my life was hard, i regret ever thinking that.

Learning Adventure Blog#1
So far doing this learning adventure, i have learned some interesting facts, about a place i have lived my whole life, where i have been multiple times, it blows me away, that i have lived here my whole life, and had no idea how, or why the pike place market, was built/started. Now that i have started acquiring more knowledge about the pike place market, i have become more interested in it than i ever have been before. I love the pike place market, but honestly i knew nothing. That's why this learning adventure was such a cool idea. Because even after this learning adventure assignment is complete i think i am going to pursue my interest in the market and continue learning more about Seattle's unknown history.

La blog #1 THE PLAN (edited)
My plan so far, is to do a good amount of research, before i take my trip to downtown Seattle, to do my interview questions. I will take pictures, and be prepared to answer questions, about how the pike place market came about, why, and how , and why did it change from a regular downtown market, to housing, and becoming Seattle's most popular tourist attraction aside the Seattle space needle. These questions are my priority, and will make my project unique. This project is very interesting to me, because i have always been interested , and loved the Pike place market. Success in this learning adventure, will be when i become able to answer all of the questions above, and then some. MY pathway to success Will be me using the resources around me, my grandma, my friends, people at the market, Internet, and hands on experience myself. Using all of the listed resources i will be able to funnel all of this amazing information, into the questions above, and learn extra information to share with the class.
proposal revised!!
Now i have revised my proposal, from installing two radiator fans, to learning, and understanding the history, and the main attractions of the pike place market in downtown Seattle. I want to learn from which point did it go from being a market to a full blown tourist attraction, or has it always been this way. All these questions i soon hope to have answers for, and i will take a field trip, and possibly interview, people , and ask what brings them to the pike place market.
